Irish Terrier

Irish Terrier Rescue Information: The Irish Terrier is a bold, scrappy little dog. Irish Terriers are always ready for a fight with another dog. Irish Terriers are great with kids who play hard. This breed needs early, firm obedience training. Irish Terriers are not a good choice for a home with other pets. Irish Terriers are friendly, devoted, and protective with their people, and should be well-socialized as puppies. This breed likes to chase and dig. Irish Terriers can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard, and if they get enough exercise they generally behave quite well indoors.

Irish Terrier Trivia: The Irish Terrier breed is about 2,000 years old. Irish Terriers are depicted in paintings from the 1700s. Irish Terriers have been used by the military to carry messages. The Tramp in Lady and the Tramp is supposed to resemble an Irish Terrier.
